Serve CCF

This is a listing of ministry opportunities for the Fall 2011 semester. If you are interested in helping with one of these areas and want to contact someone, the appropriate email address is below. We would love for you to involve yourself and help serve in one (or a few!) of these areas!

Encouragement: Kait Hall, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it In Encouragement Ministry we seek to build up those around us with love, prayer, and simple acts of intentional kindness. We know that life on this campus can be burdensome at times, and we want to help share the burden. Our hope is to not only facilitate encouragment within the body of CCF and for our leaders, but that the things we do would spur a contagious passing along of the Lord's goodness to this campus at large. If you like to bake, write encouragement notes, or simply enjoy loving people, please join us 8:00 PM Tuesday nights at the CCF house (upstairs).

Food: Dani Steele, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it In food ministry we strive to serve CCF by providing meals or snacks that enhance fellowship, service, or discipleship experiences. Everyone has to eat, and people typically remember the food at an event or trip (whether it was good or bad). Our goal is to not only provide for the physical need of food, but to share the love of Jesus by meeting that practical need of this community and serving with joyful hearts. We want to create a "home away from home" experience for our students by providing comforting and healthy nourishment whenever it's needed.

Library: Louisa Williams, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Library Ministry's primary focus is the care and organization of the library in the CCF house, so it's a great way to combine love for the Lord with a love for books.  Donations are always appreciated and book requests are welcome!

Life of Faith: Alissa Murray, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Life of Faith is a ministry that works on helping the body realize that worry and trust in God do not co-exist. We focus on helping Truman and CCF students work to get rid of their stress and worry by choosing instead to trust in God, specifically trusting in his goodness and sovereignty. While there are many verses in the Bible that model trust in the Lord, the verse that we chose as our focal verse is Matthew 6:24-33. We hold weekly hangouts following Wednesday Night Service, affectionately referred to as WNHO. Please join us if you are interested in finding out more about LoF or if you just want some time that is set aside for relaxation and de-stressing!

Maintenance: Josiah Belzer, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it All the behind-the-scene work at the CCF house and CCF's white Randolph house.  Regular projects include mowing/yard-work, cleaning in and around the house, and trash duty.  Maintenance ministry also has work days, 2-3 times per semester, to knock out big projects involving landscaping, carpentry, deep cleaning, or painting.

Media: Mark Wopata, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it The media ministry of CCF consists of people who want to serve the CCF community by providing video production.  While this ministry is a service to the CCF body, we also encourage anyone who is interested in serving in the realm of media ministry to join us.  Whether you are an expert or just getting started, we would love for you to become a part of the media ministry.

Men's Discipleship: Spencer Thomas, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Men's Discipleship Ministry exists to stir the men of CCF towards deeper relationships; first with God, and second with one another. By taking a look at what it means to be a disciple of Christ we hope to aid the body in emulating his example. It is our hope that through this learning together of what it means to be "little Christs" we can more effectively glorify God together. So, through being a resource for, and encouraging the body to form and maintain discipleship and accountability relationships, it is our prayer that we will grow - in love for the Lord and for one another.

Men's Ministry: Derek Franklin, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it The Men's Ministry of CCF keeps brothers of Christ involved in fellowship and service. The Men's Ministry sponsors multiple "Bombardments" which consists of nights playing dodgeball, a Men's weekend retreat, and service activities consisting of a Vehicle Maintainence Day and a Valentine's Day Dinner for the women of CCF. We enjoy serving and growing together as men of Christ and anyone is welcome to our activities.

Office: Jen Maynard, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Office Ministry could also be called the support staff for not only the full time staff, but also the CCF body.  We are primarily a behind-the-scenes ministry.  If you like administrative tasks or even just cleaning, office ministry is a great way to serve the body.  We are responsible for communications, publications, and other various administrative tasks, including cleaning the CCF house for others to use!

Publications: Tim Cooper, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Publications involves designing promotional materials for the other ministries in CCF. This includes posters, shirts, web banners, and any other appropriate forms of media outreach that we can think of.

Sunday School: Missy Greene, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Sunday school is a great way to learn about the Lord through the experiences of various students and staff. Each Sunday that we have service, Sunday school will meet in VH1010 at 10:30a.m. Come learn more about the Lord and share the joy of what he has taught others! You can also find this week's topic and speaker in the weekly announcements.

Sunday Service: Josh Day, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it CCF's Sunday services exist to bring the gospel to Truman State's student body through a weekly gathering that celebrates Jesus' life, death, resurrection, and the implications of those events on our lives. Services strive to bring worship to Jesus and facilitate a time for the scriptures of the Bible to encourage, challenge, and transform student's lives. Join us every Sunday at either 9am or 10:30am in Vioette Hall 1000!

Wednesday Service: Sarah Perry, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Wednesday night services include a time of worship, a time of prayer, and a time of the gospel. They are a great way to break up the school week and gather with fellow Christians to praise God and learn from scripture. Also disclosed on Wednesday night services are announcements concerning future CCF events. With this great insight, staying involved is easy! Set up like a traditional church service, there is typically a sermon and time of worship. Usually, Wednesday services are held in Violette Hall 1000 (the same location of Sunday Services).

Women's Discipleship: Allison Hickox, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it We seek to provide women with opportunities to encourage and challenge each other as we live life together for the glory of God. Discipleship is all about following a mature believer as they follow Christ-- in word and in deed.  We want to see women grow in godliness as they seek the Lord in his Word and fall more in love with him, spilling over into every part of their lives.  Accountability is a chance to meet with one or a few women, confess our sins to each other, pray for each other, and spur each other on toward obedience to Christ.  These relationships tend to happen organically in our body, but we do what we can to be a resource for women either desiring to be involved or wanting to know how to go about taking the next step.

Women's Ministry: Michelle Ernst and Katie Moore, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it We plan events throughout the year to meet the needs of women in the CCF body and Truman campus. We seek to provide times for women to fellowship and learn from one another as we grow in Christ. We will be sure when to inform you when volunteers are needed for large events. Please let us know if you have any fun or new ideas!

Worship: Jessica Tholl and Luke Morris, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Worship Ministry is focused on bringing all of God’s people together in praise and worship through song. We want to offer music to the body of CCF that allows them not only to hear the written Word of God, but also experience a time of reflection and thanksgiving. Both contemporary and older musical styles are incorporated, as we want to encourage anyone and everyone to experience worship. Music is only a tool that we desire to lay down at the Lord’s feet as an offering; our ultimate goal is to be spirit filled, giving praise to Him in all parts of our lives. We partner with sound ministry for Sunday and Wednesday services along with various other ministries for worship nights throughout the semester.
